A. Isobel Sutcliffe
A. Isobel Sutcliffe lives in Western Queensland, Australia with her husband, two dogs and two cats. She has an adult son and daughter. A child of grazier parents in rural Queensland she spent thirty-three years working as a musician, playing in pubs and nightclubs. A visual artist she turned to writing in 2015.
In her own words: “I’m a banana bender (Queenslander) and live at Charleville in the semi-arid outback. I have a second home in Queensland’s southern border ranges at Stanthorpe. A former rock chic, I began playing in rock bands before it was considered acceptable for girls to play an electric guitar. I had to battle against a lot of sexism but I prevailed and had a 33 year career as a musician, playing guitar, bass, keyboards, mandolin and fiddle. My son is an IT systems engineer and my daughter is a musician and music teacher. My husband is a refrigeration technician.”
