Jackson Ahern is a writer, poet, and musician. The grandson of Irish immigrants, he was raised in a Pennsylvania farm house built in 1740 and this early American Yankee sensibility shows in much of his writing. Yet, his true love became the American west, and it is the west that is his greatest source of inspiration. He spent fifty years gathering stories and ideas from New England woodsman, Memphis blues musicians, Nevada cowboy poets and the free spirits of San Francisco. He now lives with his wife on The Snake River Plain in southern Idaho and spends as much time as he can with his two grown daughters and two grandchildren.
